One question that seems top be at the top of everyoneâs list when it comes to auto repairs is, âHow do I find a good mechanic?â The best method of course is a referral from a friend or colleague. Letâs consider the following points when searching for a good mechanic.
Upon your first visit to the auto center, as you pull into the parking lot, is the auto center clean and neat? As you enter the center's reception area, does the owner or manager greet you with a smile and make eye contact? You may be wondering what these factors have to do with choosing an auto professional. Well, a business that values its customers will make every effort to show it and keep the reception area, washrooms and repair bays clean.
OK, so the shop is clean, but does this mean the mechanics are qualified? Certainly not! However many auto mechanic centers display training certificates, industry awards, and community service acknowledgements on the walls of their reception area. An auto center that cares for their customers will ensure their mechanics are qualified and are provided continuing training in order to keep up with advancing technologies.
A good repair shop should have your engine repair records in an electronic database. This will insure consistent follow-up on items that will need attention at some point in the near future.
Lastly, inform your auto mechanic center when you have concerns, regardless of how small they may seem at the time. A good shop is concerned with maintaining excellent customer relationships and therefore openly welcomes your comments and automotive questions.
So donât keep it a secret - please tell us the friendliest experience you have had with your auto mechanic.
