Oil Change

You can never change your engine oil too frequently. The more often you do, the longer your engine will last. Large quantities of water are produced by the normal combustion process and depending on engine wear, some water may find it's way into the crank case. If your crank case breathing system is working well, this moisture is removed. But in cold weather condensation can lead to premature engine breakdown. To protect your engine your auto repair shop/mechanic should perform an oil change every 3 months or 5,000km.

Brake Flushes

Clean brake fluid is crucial to the proper operation of any braking system. As a general rule, brake fluid should be flushed every two years, regardless of the number of kilometers driven. The brake fluid absorbs moisture and contamination, which has a notable impact on the vehicle's braking performance. When the brake fluid is flushed, the contaminates are removed thus prolonging the life of the system components such as the hydraulic parts, lines and anti-lock brake modules.

Brake Services

Along with a brake flush, a regular maintenance service visit should include the installation of replacement brake pads and/or rotors. Many modern cars use brake discs on both the front and rear wheels, but some still use older style brake drums on the rear. The wear components to consider in a disc/drum setup are still the typical pads and rotors in the front and brake drums and shoes in the rear.

Coolant Flushes

Your car's radiator and cooling system needs to be clean to work efficiently. As time goes on, your radiator develops solid deposits that can clog the cooling system. A quick and inexpensive radiator flush by an auto mechanic can keep the cooling system in top working order. Therefore, Master Mechanic in Mississauga recommends that your coolant be flushed every two years or 40,000 kms.

Transmission Flushes

A transmission flush helps to remove residual transmission fluids that often build up around the converters, coolers, and in the cooler lines of your engine. Although some mechanics differ on the frequency of changing your transmission fluids all automotive mechanics agree that a scheduled flush will increase the function and life of the transmission. Your transmission should be flushed every two years or 40,000kms.

Power Steering Flushes

Power steering, that is accomplished through a variety of pumps and valves, enables the easier turning operation in rack and pinion or recirculating ball steering systems. Contaminants build up in the power steering system depending on the age of the vehicle and the number of Kilometers driven. If the power steering fluid is not replaced, the proper operation of components such as the rotary valve, spool valve, inner and outer valves in the torsion bar, and the pressure relief valve will be negatively affected. The power steering fluid should be replaced at an auto mechanic every three years or 60,000 kms.

Exhaust Systems

Most modern vehicle exhaust systems are manufactured to last longer due to material selection and design enhancements. If your engine light goes on it may indicate thta your exhaust and emission systems are operating outside the manufacturers limits and may cause harm to the rest of the vehicle. At Master Mechanic Erin Mills our mechanics inspect your exhaust system at each car service interval to ensure it is operating within the manufacturer's specifications.

Transmission Repairs

Proper flushes and filter changes should prevent the need for major transmission repairs and overhauls. If you feel the transmission or vehicle slipping or not shifting as it has in the recent past, bring the vehicle to our car repair center to have it inspected by one of our mechanic experts.

Suspension and Steering Systems

The steering and suspension systems of a car are not only important for safety reasons but they also enhances the comfort level of the vehicle. The two systems are directly related to each other, which is why they are always referred to together. At our auto repair shop our auto mechanics perform a full four wheel alignment and inspection of your suspension and steering system at each car service interval.

Tires/Wheel

Every mechanic inspects your tires for tread depth, age and pressure at each auto service interval and we at Master Mechanic Erin Mills recommend that our clients do a tire pressure inspection each month. At Master Mechanic our mechanics do tire rotations, tire balancing and we have the capability to reprogram the tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) in some vehicles. Master Mechanic Erin Mills stocks tires and wheels for all vehicles.

Tune Ups

In today's sophisticated vehicles, a tuneup should involve replacing the air and fuel filter, spark plugs and ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor. These components may change depending on the vehicle you drive. Some of these components either have been replaced with life time electronic systems, or do not need replacing.

Engine Repairs

Regular maintenance such as, oil changes every 5 kms or 3 months, filter changes and flushes will help extend the life of your engine. A regular maintenance program will also address any "light indicators" should they come on. Our automotive mechanics will review your vehicle's regular factory maintenance requirements to prevent major engine repairs or engine overhauls.

Comprehensive Inspection Report

At Master Mechanic Erin Mills, we conduct a Comprehensive Inspection Report (CIR) to assess the condition of any motor vehicle. Our CIR covers all areas of the vehicle, right down to measuring the width of the disc rotors. This report can be carried out on all passenger, 4WD and light commercial vehicles. So if you're about to buy a used car or deciding whether to keep your existing vehicle, make sure you book a Comprehensive Inspection Report for total peace of mind.
